Ben and I weren't sure how we were going to compete with the fun of aunts and uncles visiting, but luckily, our CSA farm was hosting a farm tour on Sunday. So when Nory finally woke up from her nap (playing with aunts and uncles is very tiring...) we made the trip out to the farm to see where our food comes from and sample some food made from the farm. The butternut squash soup was amazing, the kale chips were excellent, everything was super tasty. The tour was interesting, Nory was looking everywhere she could. The fields were beautiful, and the year round greenhouse was awesome! It's a floating garden, how cool is that? I think they just have lettuce (that's all we saw) but still, fresh lettuce all year! Seeds are started in dirt, just like you do normally. When they're ready for transplant, instead of going into the soil, they are "plugged" into holes in the floating foam. The water is heated and treated with fertilizer. When it's time to harvest, just pick up the foam, pull the plants out, and you're ready to transplant new sprouts. Tadaa!

The only downside was that Mama was distracted and kinda forgot to feed Nory before we left. Poor Nory was very unhappy. She got to eat as soon as we got home, and then got some extra play time in her bathtub, so she forgave me. Such a sweet girl.
